CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Free car washes are in the equation all weekend long for those living in and around Charleston.
Whistle Express Car Wash is planning a grand opening event for Friday afternoon, kicking off a weekend-long celebration. It marks the car wash's first location in Charleston, and to commemorate the occasion, there will be free car washes for everyone.
Located at 4865 Tanger Outlet Blvd., at the intersection of Erin Court in North Charleston, Whistle Express' ribbon cutting takes place at 2 p.m., but the entire event lasts from noon to 3 p.m.

Whistle Express Car Wash will also offer a discounted wash club membership at $1 for the entire weekend. Families can also enjoy free caricature artists, Kona Ice of North Charleston, raffles, and visits from local mascots.
Whistle Express Car Wash will donate $1,000 to Beautiful Gate Center, which serves students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental differences who are inadequately served in existing public and private special education programs, according to the event press release.
Beautiful Gate Center will also be on hand during the event on Aug. 11 to accept additional monetary donations from guests.
